Gary began working in the construction industry in 1968, while employed with L.E. Powell Company Ltd.  In 1970, he began his career as a full time Fire Fighter with the City of Dartmouth.

During the years that followed Gary constructed 15 homes in the HRM. He retired after 30 years in the fire service and along with his wife Carol, had moved to East Chezzetcook, where they built the home they currently live in. To Gary and Carol, East Chezzetcook and all the communities along "The Shore" are their "little piece of heaven!"

They realized after some research and listening to the people that live in the communities along the Eastern Shore that there is a great desire and need for rental accommodations in this area, whether the residents are retired or working professionals.

Having now been involved with property rental management and construction, Carol and Gary were committed to offering high quality living units. Carol manages the operation of the projects, where Gary sees the big picture. Carol keeps track of every detail at every stage of the project, from sourcing suppliers, choosing detailed finishes and fixtures as well as tracking time lines, to billing, legal issues and customer relations.

Together, they constructed the first of many projects to come to the Eastern Shore.

In recognition of this, and with sensitivity to the communities’ concerns for keeping the development within the character of their environment, they came up with a design for a unique, retirement villa by designing a four-unit town house.

They first purchased a property in Gaetz Brook, which is located between Porter's Lake and Musquodoboit Harbour, on which their most recent project was developed and constructed.

One of the most passionate features of G and C Eddy Developers is their dedication to ensuring the highest energy efficiency in their buildings. As Gary and Carol believe "You have to have the years of experience, have made mistakes enough to know better, know what's best and have as much pride in the work as we both do."
